Pleurotus - the oyster mushrooms - are among the most vigorous and adaptable hardwood fungi, fruiting in shelving clusters on dead and dying wood. They are fast colonizers, widely grown for their flavor and their forgiving nature.
PO-101 was isolated from a wild fruiting in Upshur County, West Virginia. This line produces smaller caps in dense, tightly packed flushes - a heavy yielder with the vigor wild oyster genetics are known for.
Available as a 10cc liquid culture or 90x15mm agar plate. Every Redbird line traces to the tree and county it came from.
